They occur for many different reasons, including as part of negotiations with the Department, discovery of unforeseen site conditions, owners\u2019 preference or desired changes during construction or changes in construction methods. The Building Inspectors of the Department are authorised to grant these specified changes to works on site to assist with site continuity of work and scheduling. However, they Inspectors the right to require a formal revision submission where it is considered that greater scrutiny of a proposed revision is required. It should be noted that an \u2018in the field revision\u2019 must be requested before the works have taken place and proceeding with a change without the necessary approval will, in most cases, default to a requirement for a retroactive formal building permit application and may also require a retroactive application for planning permission.<\/p><p>Proposed \u2018in the field revisions\u2019 will be assessed against the drawings and documentation stamped \u2019approved\u2019 by the Department of Planning only. Changes to a development affecting a building or site of historical interest or significance, namely a listed building or a building within a historic protection area \u00a0will not be allowed as part of this scheme. In most cases a site sketch will be required, complete with an Engineer\u2019s signed seal, if applicable.<\/p><p>The checklist itself works as a list of cascading requirements. The Inspector will review the proposal by working through the checklist to the specific change being proposed and then follow it to its logical conclusion. In certain circumstances the Inspector may seek consultation with other technical officers of the Department of Planning or other Government departments. If the \u2018in the field revision\u2019 is granted, it will be recorded in the Inspection results and will include photographs of the completed checklist, revised works, site sketches and other associated documentation. A single PDF containing all drawings detailing all of the planned revisions and meeting the following criteria.<\/p><p>\u2022 All changes to the original approved drawings must be <strong><u>bubbled in red<\/u><\/strong>.<br \/>\u2022 A synopsis per drawing shall be written in the margin against a revision number and date the drawing was issued.<br \/>\u2022 All Commercial applications (any project exceeding the scope of the <a href=\"https:\/\/planning.gov.bm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Bermuda-Residential-Building-Code-2014.pdf\">Bermuda Residential Building Code 2014<\/a>) shall be <a href=\"mailto:fireprotection@gov.bm\">reviewed by the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> (BFRS) under the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bermudalaws.bm\/laws\/Consolidated%20Laws\/Fire%20Safety%20Act%202014.pdf\">Bermuda Fire Safety Act 2014<\/a>, and stamped by BFRS prior to submission. NB. The BFRS review is a separate process from that of the Planning Department. Any delays in processing resulting from BFRS review after submission are beyond the control of the Department of Planning.<br \/>\u2022 Minimum font size of 8 pt. is recommended. Half-sized drawings should also meet this criteria after scaling.<br \/>\u2022 Each drawing sheet must include a scale bar.<br \/>\u2022 Half sized drawings of standard 24\u201dx36\u201d drawing size scaled \u201cfit to page\u201d for an 11\u201dx17\u201d format will not remain to scale. Do not submit drawings thusly scaled.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-45f99ed elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"45f99ed\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-c1f3e81\" data-id=\"c1f3e81\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb9988d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb9988d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>2.
