In January 2020, the Department of Planning implemented paperless applications with EnerGov<\/strong>, an information management system developed by Tyler Technologies<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

The Customer Self Service (CSS)<\/strong> is an online self-service portal, offering a convenient way to submit applications, schedule inspections and view documentation. The CSS provides online tools for effective communication throughout the application process. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>

On September 25th, 2025 our\u00a0CSS portal underwent an update, whereby the system was moved to cloud hosted servers.<\/p>

As a result,\u00a0all existing CSS users will need to create a Community Access profile<\/strong>, before they can receive verification code and password reset emails from our system. You only have to set this up once and then you will be able to log into your account normally and reset the password whenever needed.<\/p>

Any available drawings and documents attached to a Planning or Permit application, can be found in the ‘Attachments’ section of that application.\u00a0<\/p>

Use the ‘Search’ function to find the application you are looking for.\u00a0You may get multiple search results so find the highlighted Plan Number that matches what you’re looking for and click on the number to open it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

When logged into your CSS account a ‘My Work’ tab appears on the toolbar.\u00a0<\/p>

This area is designed to display all of the Invoices, Permits, Plans and Inspections that you are linked to.\u00a0<\/p>

There is also a ‘Request Inspections’ section, which will list all of the available inspections that you can request, for any of the applications you are linked to.\u00a0<\/p>

However, the display filter by default only shows applications that have been ‘Updated’ in the ‘Last 120 days’.\u00a0<\/p>

If there has been no recent activity or updates to a particular application for longer that 120 days, it will not appear on that list.\u00a0<\/p>

The filter also applies to the Search field within the ‘My Work’ page (not the main Search of the CSS). So it’s possible to put an application number in that Search and not get any results because there hasn’t been any recent activity, not because you don’t have access.\u00a0<\/p>

You can adjust the display filter by changing any of the three available dropdown lists.\u00a0<\/p>

Otherwise, sometimes it is just easier to use the main ‘Search’ feature of the CSS to find the application you are looking for.\u00a0<\/p>

As long as you remain signed in, you will have access to the additional information for that application, that the general public may not have access to.\u00a0<\/p>
