The main responsibility of the Forward Planning section is to formulate planning policy, which is used in the assessment of planning applications. In addition, the section is responsible for administering land-use zonings across the Island, ensuring that there is a balanced spread of land available for a variety of uses which contribute to the social, environmental and economic success of the Island. In addition, we have a member of staff specifically dedicated towards providing advice on the management of the Island’s designated historical assets, such as listed buildings, historic areas and scheduled monuments.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At present, there are three operative land-use plans across the Island, comprising the Bermuda Plan 2018, City of Hamilton Plan 2015 and North East Hamilton Local Plan 2022.
