Grow Local is a collaborative initiative between the Department of Planning and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
This webpage hosts details of sites which are available for agricultural purposes.
The Department of Planning will connect people interested in pursuing farming opportunities with landowners willing to have their land farmed. Whilst the Department of Planning can facilitate connections between landowners and farmers, it will not participate in or manage private agreements.
I Have Land
If you have land that may be suitable for farming, you can register your interest with the Department of Planning. This may help connect your land with people looking for farming opportunities.
I Want to Farm
Looking for a plot of land to farm but do not see any plots on the map which meet your needs? Get in touch to register what you are looking for, including the type of farming opportunity and approximate size of land required.
Potential Benefits of Utilising Your Land for Farming
Rental income
Landowners may be able to generate income from land that is suitable and available for farming.
Food security
Farming available land can help enhance food security for both individual households and the wider island.
Healthy living
The initiative can support healthier living by helping to increase the availability of fresh, locally grown produce.
Cost savings
Growing food locally may provide cost savings through growing your own food and/or obtaining produce from the farming operation.
