Delegated Decisions

Decisions issued by the Director of Planning

Most planning applications are decided by the Director of Planning under the Department of Planning’s Scheme of Delegation, which are referred to as ‘delegated decisions’.

The Development Applications Board, or ‘DAB’, is appointed by the Minister responsible for Planning each year to consider and decide planning applications. In addition to representatives of the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service (Ms. Danielle Foote), the Corporation of Hamilton (Mr. Patrick Cooper) and the Corporation of St. George (Cllr. N. Garon Dowling), the DAB currently consists of the following members:

Historic Buildings Advisory Committee

Meeting Dates and Minutes

The Historic Buildings Advisory Committee, or ‘HBAC’, is appointed by the Minister responsible for Planning each year to provide advice on matters affecting Bermuda’s built heritage and provides consultation responses on proposals affecting listed buildings, historic protection areas and the UNESCO world heritage site of the Town of St. George and related fortifications. The HBAC is currently comprised of the following members:

Appeal Decisions

Decisions issued by the Minister responsible for Planning

Decisions of the DAB may be appealed to the Minister responsible for Planning, as detailed by the Department’s Procedure for Planning Appeals.

Letters of objection and/or representation should be emailed to planningfrontdesk@gov.bm referencing the PLAN or SUB number in the subject line.
